Certificate of Good Standing

The 2017 Oregon Legislature passed Senate Bill 690 which created, “Certificates of Good Standing”. 

Certificate of Good Standing

Individuals previously supervised by Clatsop County Community Corrections who meet specific criteria may request a Certificate of Good Standing.

Criteria includes:

  • At least one year since supervision has ended, and supervised within the last three years;
  • Not previously supervised for a person crime;
  • Complied with sentence and conditions, including treatment;
  • Satisfied court ordered financial obligations (or under current payment plan);
  • Not in violation of conditions of any criminal sentence;
  • No criminal charges currently pending; and
  • Engaged in lawful occupation or activity, or other lawful form of support.

Process to Request a Certificate of Good Standing

  1. Submit the Request for Verification of Good Standing to the supervisory authority (the last county of supervision). Link to form
  2. That county issues a Certificate of Good Standing Verification.
  3. File a petition with the Circuit Court of residence and include the Certificate of Good Standing Verification and any other documents or written material to support the petition.
  4. Also serve a copy to the District Attorney's Office of residence.
  5. The Circuit Court makes the determination to issue a Certificate of Good Standing.
