Tips for Finding Lost Pets

We understand that losing a household pet can be like losing a member of the family.  If your pet is found wearing a license or tag or has a microchip, we will attempt to notify you if it arrives at the shelter.

While you are waiting, we recommend that you come to the Animal Shelter to look for your pet. If the shelter does not have your pet, you may fill out a lost pet report. Bring a current photograph of your pet. Describe any distinguishable markings and whether it was wearing a collar and license. Check back at the shelter at least every three days.

You can also put up posters around the area in which your pet was lost and talk to your neighbors. You may wish to put a classified ad in the local newspapers, contact the radio stations and call local veterinarians.

Found Pets

If you find a pet, call the Animal Shelter. Describe any distinguishable markings and whether it was wearing a collar and license. If the dog has a license, provide the information on license to help us locate the owner.
