Terry Hendryx has been promoted to the position of Clatsop County Public Works Director.

“Terry had served as an excellent interim director for the past 9 months. He is well-respected by his co-workers and his institutional knowledge is invaluable to the county,“ said Don Bohn, Clatsop County Manager.

Hendryx started with the county in August 1989 as an Engineering Technician. At that time there was one level of technician. He developed the three levels of Engineering Technicians currently used today and was promoted to Tech III after receiving his professional land surveyors license in 1998.

Hendryx said he was encouraged by co-workers, family and friends to take the step into management after the former director retired.

“I am excited to work with the people in our Parks, Fisheries, Surveying and Road Departments who provide quality work every day in Clatsop County,” Hendryx said.

Hendryx previously worked at Kohl’s Alder Mill in Seaside and Warrenton Lumber Mill. He attended Seaside High School and Clatsop Community College before transferring to Oregon Institute of Technology where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering.
