Clatsop County Emergency Management Department is conducting a county-wide test of the Clatsop County emergency notification systemClatsopAlerts!, on Wednesday, June 14, the day Fire Season begins in Clatsop County.

The annual test is being done to make sure the emergency alert system is working correctly. “In a real emergency, it is critically important we have accurate contact information so we can quickly notify the public. This test helps make sure we have that,” said Justin Gibbs, Clatsop County emergency management director.

“If you have registered more than one device through ClatsopAlerts!, you will receive separate messages on each registered device. You also may receive more than one email message if you have multiple email addresses in your ClatsopAlerts! profile,” Gibbs said.

If you do not receive a test notice to one of your devices by 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, log in to your ClatsopAlerts! profile to make sure your information is up to date.

It is simple to sign up for ClatsopAlerts and Gibbs encourages individuals register now.
