The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners invites the community to meet the two finalists for the County Administrator position at a public reception Monday, Sept. 29. The event will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Duncan K. Law Seafood Consumer Center, 2021 Marine Drive.

The finalists are Mike Morgan, county administrator of Jefferson County, Oregon, and Scott Derickson, city manager of Warrenton, Oregon. Morgan has been the Jefferson County administrator since December 1996. Derickson has been Warrenton’s city manager since spring 2000.

The reception is an opportunity for the public to meet the candidates and offer their thoughts to the commissioners, said Dean Perez, the county’s human resources director.

The Board will meet in executive session on Monday, Sept. 29, starting at 8 a.m. to interview the two candidates. The Board will hold a special public meeting to select the candidate who will be offered the position at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in the Public Services Building 800 at 800 Exchange St., Suite 300, Astoria.
