Passports


TRAVELERS, PLEASE NOTE:

ROUTINE SERVICE - As of December 21, 2009, routine applications are processing in approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application.

EXPEDITED SERVICE - As of December 21, 2009, expedited service requests, that include overnight delivery to and from the Passport Agency, are processing within 2-3 weeks door-to-door.

What You Will Need to Apply

1.      It is best to arrive BEFORE 3 p.m. Please complete an application before you apply. (Do not sign the application until passport acceptance agent instructs you to.)

    • Please print legibly.
    • If you make a mistake, line through it. Don't use white out.

2.      Proof of Citizenship: You will need one of the following:

    • Your previous U.S. Passport, even if it is expired.
    • If you were born in the United States, you will need a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state where you were born. It must have a filing date and official seal from the governing agency (NOT the hospital). No photocopies or California Abstracts or Texas Abstracts will be accepted.
    • Your Consular report of birth abroad.
    • Your Certificate of Naturalization.

3.      Photo Identification (i.e., Driver's License, Military ID Card, Government Employee ID Card). Identification must bear both the signature and the photo of the applicant.

4.      Two Passport photos (2"x2" head and shoulders only, face forward, with white background). Photos must be taken within the last six months.

5.      Social Security number MUST BE PROVIDED, or you could be fined by the Internal Revenue Service.

For Routine Passport Service 

You will receive your passport within 6-8 weeks.
You will need two separate payments. (Sorry, no debit or credit cards accepted.)

Adults (16 or older) valid for 10 years:

    • $75 check or money order payable to US PASSPORT AGENCY and
    • $25 cash, check or money order for the processing fee payable to CLATSOP COUNTY CLERK.

       Minors (younger than 16) valid for 5 years:

    • $60 CHECK or Money Order payable to US PASSPORT AGENCY and
    • $25 CASH, Check or Money Order for the processing fee payable to CLATSOP COUNTY CLERK.

There is a $25 fee assessed for each check returned.

MINOR CHILDREN: Children age 15 years and younger must appear in person with both parents or legal guardians. If one parent cannot be present, a written statement must be signed and notarized explaining why the non-appearing parent’s/guardian’s consent cannot be obtained. (See U.S. State Department flyer).

Children ages 16 through 17 must be accompanied by at least one parent. Children age 17 or younger with a valid driver’s license but not accompanied by at least one parent must have written parental consent or a check signed by a parent and their birth certificate showing their parents' names. 
 

To Expedite Your Passport

 

Expedited Service: You will receive your passport within 2 weeks door to door.

  • $149.96 check or money order payable to US PASSPORT AGENCY and
  • $39.96 cash,check or money order for the processing fee payable to CLATSOP COUNTY CLERK.

Minors (15 years or younger), valid for 5 years:

    • $134.96 check or money order payable to US PASSPORT AGENCY and
    • $39.96 cash, check or money order for the processing fee payable to CLATSOP COUNTY CLERK.

If you are leaving in 14 calendar days, you will need a copy of your plane ticket or itinerary. Include an additional $14.96 for return express mail delivery.


Citizens who are traveling or needing a passport in order to get a visa within 10 days should contact the National Passport Information Center directly at 877-487-2778.


If you are leaving within 14 calendar days, applications must be processed IN PERSON at the Seattle Passport Agency.

24 hours a day, seven days a week

by calling toll-free (877) 487-2778

Arrive no more than 15 minutes early. Late arrivals will need to reschedule their appointment. You will need a check, money order, major credit card or exact cash.  You must bring proof of immediate travel (plane ticket, itinerary, or a travel letter from an employer). You must be traveling within 14 calendar days. If you are traveling abroad within 72 hours, be advised that it takes 4 to 6 hours to process urgent passports.  Schedule a morning appointment to avoid having to return the next day to pick up the passport.
