The Clatsop Housing Solutions Conference, on Sept. 27, 2007, in the Seaside Civic & Convention Center, drew nearly 200 participates who explored topics important to lenders, builders, business owners and managers, real estate agents, service providers, city and county planners, housing advocacy groups, community leaders and local government agencies.
Experts talked about how available resources can be used more effectively and offered new approaches that are working elsewhere, such as accessory dwelling units, housing trusts, mixed-use development, sweat equity home building and affordable lot development, as well as policies that local governments can adopt to encourage affordable housing development.
